Five days (One Week) ATAL Sponsored Online Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on “Robotics and Automation†was conducted from 20th to 24th December 2021, in which 174 participants had applied for training and out of this around 104 participants from different parts of the country participated. The workshop was coordinated by Dr B C Khatri, Associate Professor, Mechanical Engineering Department, GEC Modasa, under the guidance of Dr U V Shah, Head of Department, Mechanical Engineering and Dr B. J. Shah, Principal, GEC Modasa. This workshop comprises the basics of robotics and automation. For conducting different sessions on said topics various experts from the highly reputed institutes and universities like IITs, NITs, Jamia Millia Islamia, EIT Australia etc. were invited and they have delivered excellent knowledge on robotics and automation. The main aim or purpose for conducting such a workshop is to give the knowledge of robotics and its application in automation to the participants and motivate them to compete in the global competitive engineering field and they can make awareness about fast-growing technologies in robotics, its real applications in industries, knowing about other’s innovations in the field of robotics and automation, the building of their inherent abilities and improvement of their communication is possible by sharing of knowledge.
Government Engineering College, Modasa was established in 1984 under the Directorate of Technical Education, Gujarat State, Gandhinagar in North Gujarat region with a view to spread out technical education in the region and hence promote industrial development. The institute was affiliated with Hemchandracharaya North Gujarat University (HNGU), Patan from 1984 to 2007. The institute is affiliated to Gujarat Technological University, Ahmedabad from 2008. It is recognized by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi.
