Dear Students, Faculty Members, and all Stakeholders,

Warm greetings to all.

Today, as I deliver this message, I experience immense pride for this academically sound Government Engineering College, Modasa, on Shamlaji Road, which has flourished from 1984 to 2026. It is today in its 42nd year, and it has attained a position as a state-of-the-art institute in the tribal area of Aravalli district. The widespread reach of our pass-out students across the globe continues to make a significant impact in every field of engineering.

It is a moment of great pride to share that our Mechanical Engineering department has secured NBA Accreditation, reaffirming the quality of our academic programs. The institute has also been recognized among India's Best Engineering Institutes and honoured as the Best New Local Chapter by NPTEL — milestones that reflect the collective dedication of our faculty and students. Our campus was privileged to host the Indian Air Force's Team DISHA, inspiring students towards careers in the defence forces, while our students continued to excel on the sports field, with our volleyball teams bringing home well-earned honours in 2025.

Our Institute continues to actively promote the academic and all-round development of students. Alumni are invited and expert talks are arranged as part of the placement drive. Being a leading technical institution in the district, we regularly conduct programs to build awareness of Startup Policy and Innovation activities, which form the foundation of a strong entrepreneurial ecosystem, further strengthened through our SSIP and DIC cells.

Under the aegis of “AatmaNirbhar Bharat,” there has been incredible participation and contribution from faculty and students in activities and programs conducted by GTU and the Education Department. Exposure to technological advancement, alongside active participation in sports and cultural activities such as Aarambh, Prarambh, and Swaraj Jashn, is encouraged to inculcate a competitive and patriotic spirit among students. Our students also take active part in tree plantation drives, cleanliness campaigns, and NDRF mock drills, engaging them meaningfully with matters of green development, climate change, and disaster preparedness.

In line with the vision of our Hon'ble Prime Minister, who believes in the theme “One Earth, One Family, One Future,” drawn from the Sanskrit phrase of the Maha Upanishad “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam,” we remain focused on global priorities such as financial growth, inclusive growth, the digital economy, public infrastructure, technological transformation, and women's empowerment — all in service of the Sustainable Development Goals and a better future for generations to come.

Progressing in alignment with the “National Education Policy (NEP 2020)” remains inevitable and essential. As a student-centric policy, it offers students flexibility in choosing subjects of their interest, with emphasis on the Indian education system, vernacular education, and multidisciplinary learning. Promoting and propagating NEP 2020 remains a key responsibility of every faculty member and student at our institute.

I am also happy to share that, guided by our newly approved Institutional Development Plan (2025–2030), we continue to strengthen our green and expansive campus with enhanced facilities and in-campus hostels, fostering a rich ecosystem of teaching and learning for our students and staff alike.

Best wishes for the future.

Sincerely, and with Best Regards,

Date : 27 July 2026

Prof. Dr. Jeetendra A. VadherPrincipal
