Finishing School is an Employability Enhancement Initiative of the Education Department, Government of Gujarat for imparting training on Skill development for students of Higher and Technical Education to make them Industry-ready. The Knowledge Consortium of Gujarat established by the Department of Education, Government of Gujarat started Finishing School in the year of 2017.
Finishing School has 4 components each of 25 hours. Component 1 & 2 (Employability and Life Skill) and Component 3 & 4 (Functional English and Comm.). GEC, Modasa has organized total 15 finishing school and utilized Grant of Rs. 497013/- from 2017-20. Total 495 Final and Pre Final Year student have taken training under the Finishing School from experts like Mrs. Sudha Shah, Mr. Maulik Shah, Dr. Riya Shah, Priti Zaveri , Shilpa Parmar etc.

Government Engineering College, Modasa was established in 1984 under the Directorate of Technical Education, Gujarat State, Gandhinagar in North Gujarat region with a view to spread out technical education in the region and hence promote industrial development. The institute was affiliated with Hemchandracharaya North Gujarat University (HNGU), Patan from 1984 to 2007. The institute is affiliated to Gujarat Technological University, Ahmedabad from 2008. It is recognized by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi.
